Healthy Habits
Being healthy isn’t my strong point but that
is one thing that I have been trying to work on recently and I can see a
massive improvement in my day to day life. I’ve accumulated a list of things
that had helped me out on my journey to a better and healthier life, so I
thought it might be useful if you guys have the same goal. So here are 10
things that have helped me so far. I’m not trying to say that if you don’t do
everything in this list that you are unhealthy and a horrible person at all.
I’m just giving you some healthy tips to help your body out and I’m sure that
your body will thank you for it.
1. No Phone in the Morning
This may sound difficult for some of
you, but it is such a great way to start your day. Checking your phone can make
you unhappy. I don’t touch my phone
until I sit down and have breakfast. I mean I should probably wait a little
longer but it’s an improvement from being the first thing that I look at. It
just lets your mind wander and enables it to think about your day process your
thoughts.
2. Yes Friends, No Phone
Technology has pretty much taken over
the world and we don’t socialise with our friends and family as much as we
should be. When you are with your friends get off your phone and have a
conversation with them don’t all sit there and your phones and go on your
phone. Put your phone away and ask them about their day or what they are doing
this week because it honestly does make you a much happier person and your body
will thank you for it as well as your friend.
3. 2 Minute List
This tip is more for cleaning or
organising and it is if something takes 2 minutes or less do it straight away
because it makes such a big difference. It also makes that massive long list of
things that you need to do in your head become shorter quicker.
4. Wash your Hands
I feel like we don’t wash our hands
enough or even hand sanitize our hands. I don’t think we realise how many germs
are around us throughout our day. Especially our phones. They carry so many
germs it’s unreal and washing our hands is just a good habit to get into.
5. Mental Health Checks
Just checking in with your body and
mind is so important to do regularly. Meditating, writing down your thoughts,
self-love notes or just simply letting your brain slow down and freely think.
6. Listen to your Body
Listening to your body is so
important, but it is also good to push yourself. When you are tired go to bed,
when you are feeling productive go do something productive, when you are
energised go do something energised. You need to take care of your body because you
only get one. Your body knows what it needs and you need to listen to what your body is telling you.
7. Stop Snacking
I was reading this post on Instagram
the other day and it said if you are hungry drink some water and wait ten
minutes then if you’re still hungry have a black tea and then wait ten minutes
and then if you’re still hungry have something to eat and it works. Try to have
bigger proper meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner and try to limit the amount
of snacking.
8. Outdoors Yes Please
Once you finish reading this and when
the weather is nice to go outside and run around, read a book, eat a meal or do
anything. Fresh air is amazing for your body. Even if it is 10 minutes a day
anything will help you out and make you feel a lot better.
9. Brain Dump
Having a notebook next to your bed is
a good idea because you have most of your deepest thoughts just before you go
to bed or in the shower but you can’t really have a notebook in the shower, but
when you are just about to fall asleep jot down your thoughts that you are
having and in the morning it will help you out because you might be surprised
at how much your thoughts helped you or reminded you to do something important.
10. Get Out of Bed
In the morning when your alarm goes
off get out of bed straight away even before you turn your alarm off because it’s
so helpful to start your day quicker. It does sound hard if you aren’t a
morning person. Trust me I’m not a morning person but don’t think about it just
get out of your bed and start your day as soon as you open your eyes.
They are my top 10 healthy habits for
